The Agent:
EzGet technology uses an agent installed on each workstation to automatically track all activities and events, whether the workstation is connected to the network or not, whether the user is log in or not. The Server hosts 5 modules:

(1) The 'Listener' Module listens the network and recieves reports, usage data, inventories and alerts from computers.

(2) The Hardware dispatcher service collects hardware inventory data in the database.

(3) The Software dispatcher service collects software inventory data in the database.

(4) The Usage dispatcher service collects usage data in the database.

(5)The Database EzGet Console:
The Administrator Console is a software program you can use to access all the inventories information. You can install the Administrator Console on multiple Windows computers in your network, so that you can remotely access your EzGet Server to perform configuration and maintenance tasks, as well as performing queries against the EzGet database. The Database:
EzGet uses the power of MSDE or SQL Server database engine. EzGet stores your audit information in a SQL Server*, or MSDE** database. This open design with these flexible products provides multiple benefits:
You can open your databases directly in SQL Server rather than the EzGet console, providing powerful alternative connectivity, reporting and query features Router FireWall RAS Componants... EzGet Agent on RAS connection:
When a RAS connection is established by the user, EzGet agent detects the EzGet server or service. EzGet agent will wait for computer and network inactivity. If the last sent report is older than 10 days or the computer is idle for more than 3 minutes, then EzGet agent opens TCP port 8174, connects to server on the TCP port 8174, sends the report file to the server and closes the TCP port 8174.(A daily report file is a 10kb file size) EzGet Agent on slow Internet connection:
When an Internet connection is established by the user, EzGet agent detects the Web network.
If the last sent report is older than 10 days or the computer is idle for more than 3 minutes, then EzGet agent opens TCP port 21, establishes a secured (with user and password) FTP connection to Web server on the TCP port 21, sends the report file to the server and closes the TCP port 21. Internet... Internet with VPN connection EzGet Agent on VPN connection:
When a VPN Internet connection is established by the user, EzGet agent detects the LAN network.
If the last send report is older than 10 days or the computer is idle for more than 3 minutes, then EzGet agent opens TCP port 8174, connects to EzGet server on the TCP port 8174, sends the report file to the server and closes the TCP port 8174. Local Area Network
